A bunch of Latinas at Pitzer College decided to let white girls know that they shouldn’t wear hoops anymore, because that’s appropriating a style.... I’ve never worn hoop earrings for the purpose of “feeling ethnic,” nor have I ever associated hoop earrings with a certain culture. They’ve always been an accessory I like. It’s really as simple as that.... I can’t wear hoops because I didn’t “create the culture as a coping mechanism for marginalization”? I can’t wear hoops because I’m not a feminist? Furthermore, I can’t wear hoops because some Latinas can’t afford it? Furthermore, I can’t wear hoops because I refuse to buy into your hypersensitive BS?.... Does anyone else realize how completely ridiculous that sounds?

American liberals today are hesitant to speak out against the denial of rights that is perpetrated in the name of Islam.
— Ayaan Hirsi Ali
A Radical is a man with both feet firmly planted--in the air. A Conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned to walk forward. A Reactionary is a somnambulist walking backwards. A Liberal is a man who uses his legs and his hands at the behest--at the command--of his head.
— Franklin D. Roosevelt
A second marked characteristic of the Liberal in debate with the conservative is the tacit premise that debates ridiculous.... Many people shrink from arguments over facts because facts are tedious, because they require a formal familiarity with the subject under discussion, and because they can be ideologically dislocation. Many Liberals accept their opinions, ideas, and evaluations as others accept revealed truths.
— William F. Buckley Jr.
At the end of the day, I do not care how many Democrats or Republicans are in office. What I do care about is whether our leader is truly serving THE PEOPLE or only his/her own pockets. Is our leader in tune with the concerns and needs of the man on the street - or only issues concerning private interests? Is this leader uniting or dividing the country? Milking or contributing to it? Building and preserving it -- or bringing it all down?
— Suzy Kassem
But seriously – how is this a good example of womanhood? How is this something we should be propping up and praising? Think about the women in your life – your mom, your aunts, your grandmothers, your sisters, your daughters, your nieces, your friends. Would you like ANY of them reduced to one small part of their anatomy? Would you tell them to their faces that they are nothing more than a walking life support system for their vaginas? ‘Cause that’s the message that feminism is sending to women the world over. I thought feminists cared more about a woman’s mind and heart, and less about her body parts.... Ladies, we are so much more than our body parts. Don’t take Hollywood airheads like Cate Blanchett as your life example.
— Chrissy Johnson
Conservatives and those on the right are usually willing to settle for thinking themselves correct on political issues; those on the left have always needed to feel not so much that they are correct but that they are also good. Disagree with someone on the right, and he is likely to think you obtuse, wrong, sentimental, foolish, a dope; disagree with someone one the left, and he is more likely to think you selfish, cold-hearted, a sellout, evil-in league with the devil, he might say, if he didn't think religious terminology too coarse for our secular age. To this day one will hear of people who fell for Communism in a big way let off the hook because they were sincere; if one's heart is in the right place, nothing else matters, even if one's naive opinions made it easier for tyrants to murder millions.
— Joseph Epstein
Does the mainstream media have a liberal bias? On a couple of things, maybe. Compared to the American public at large, probably a slightly higher percentage of journalists, because of their enhanced power of discernment, realize they know a gay person or two, and are, therefore, less frightened of them.
— Al Franken
Every new generation believes its own period to be absolutely superior intellectually - greater than all past cultures yet equal among its modern cultures.
— Criss Jami
Extremes to the right and to the left of any political dispute are always wrong.
— Dwight D. Eisenhower
